Level Up Your Wedding Look: Book a Wedding Stylist

A wedding stylist focuses solely on the aesthetic design and visual elements of a wedding. They will bring the couple’s vision to life by creating and executing a cohesive and visually appealing atmosphere for the entire wedding.

Concept Development

They will spend time getting to know you, what you like, dislike and any style ideas you have to pull together a picture of how the day should look and feel. Each wedding couple has a unique kind of relationship between each other. A wedding stylist should capture the couples personalities which can be reflected into the design of the wedding.

Mood board Design

A wedding stylist will create a colour palette with key words and symbolic imagery to help visualise the overall aesthetic of the wedding. Displayed in a moodboard of ideas, this is shared with the couple to show their understanding of their vision and also provide style recommendations that will elevate their look.

Supplier Sourcing

Once a concept and moodboard is agreed, the stylist will suggest suitable suppliers that they know will deliver the wedding design to suit your budget and requirements. The suppliers they are often involved with include:

  • Florist – To share the colour palette, flower choices, locations and vessels for displaying the flowers throughout the day
  • Cake Artist – To advise on the colour palette, textures and design of the cake. They will also understand what they are providing to coincide the design of the cake table to make it a feature
  • Stationer – To share the concept, colour palette, textures and stationery requirements for the day. The couple or wedding planner will provide the copy for the stationery itself, however the stylist will make sure it works for what is being designed on the tables and elsewhere.
  • Decor Hire – Putting forward suggested items for the couple to hire to create the overall look. This could include candlesticks, vases, lanterns, fabrics and sign holders. Where items cannot be hired, the wedding stylist will self source items to complete the look/
  • Furniture Hire – Recommending tables, chairs and sofas to elevate the space and add a more luxurious feel.
  • Linen Hire – Suggesting linen colour options and textures that work well with the design of the tables

They will also liaise with the Wedding Planner and Venue Coordinator to work out logistics for delivery on the day. This could be to request measurements, access, timings and care for the hired items.

Supplier Coordination

A Wedding Stylist will work out the styling suppliers requirements and share this information with the wedding planner & coordinator to ensure a smooth set up and pack down.

On Site Set up and Styling

On the wedding day the Wedding Stylist and their team will oversee the set up and arrangement of the styling elements on the day. They may also handle the pack down after the event to help ensure all items are collected and returned.
