How to Reduce Wedding Uncertainty and Plan for the Unknown

I am going to tell you something my lecturer once told me – there are only two things certain in life, death and taxes. Bleak? I know! But this really resonates with me. A lot of stress and worry in our lives stem from a lack of uncertainty on what’s to come. We have certainly experienced a lot of that in the last 10 months and it can be really difficult, especially if you’re a planner like me.

We live in an age where we have everything at our fingertips. We have access to food, water & shelter; we have fitness centres, restaurants & beautificians. These are things we’ve conditioned to be certain of in our lives, but if Covid has taught us anything, is that it can be stripped away quite easily.

When you embrace the uncertainty in our lives, you can have a better handle on your future. Planning weddings & events is all about this mindset. You can’t flap when things don’t go your way, you cannot be rigid in your thought process. You must tackle the changes head on. Flow with the moving tide and find a solution. So find your solution! Break tradition, find out what’s important to you and the many ways you can achieve it.

Instead of setting a new date, why not have a few ‘soft’ dates throughout the year. Decide what you want, who you want and when you want it. Prepare with alternative scenarios, alternative options and when you know one of those soft dates will work, turn it around, book it in and say I do!

If you need any help or advice on how to manage uncertainty then book a consultation with me today. I can help you plan for the unplanned and feel control when things can’t be controlled.
